USE OF PHRASAL VERBS IN A FICTION TEXT AND THEIR RENDERING INTO UKRAINIAN

Objective. The objective of the article is to study characteristics phrasal verbs and ways their rendering into Ukrainian, provide a classification in fiction text terms semantics, analyze translation Somerset Maugham’s story «Rain» performed by Maria Zhuk. Methods. main scientific results are obtained applying set general special methods research, namely: analysis generalization educational-methodical literature on problems translation; theoretical generalization, synthesis; holistic integral approaches linguistic phenomena; comparative, descriptive analytical methods. Results. Having analyzed nature components verbs, features author concludes that despite fact deprived basic word, they have verbal components. In Zhuk’s following types combinations identified: which postpositive has its primary concrete-spatial meaning; an abstract derivative meaning, connection with felt; only emphasizes or reinforces meaning verb; whose meanings do not consist postpositives; can bring new specific shade content verb. As for issue translating them used: been translated full equivalent; close analogue; translation.
